Naushop
is a neighborhood community on Nantucket Island in southern Massachusetts. It's centrally located on the island, just minutes to meandering bike paths, where you can hop on a bike and ride all over the island. There is also an NRTA public bus stop in Naushop that will take you anyplace on the island. Some of the amenities at Naushop include a heated swimming pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts and a clubhouse. When you're reading to explore more of the island, just a few things to do on Nantucket include swimming, sailing, beachcombing, hiking, antiquing, shopping in boutiques and galleries and of course - dining on delicious, fresh Nantucket Island seafood. Take a leisurely walk along a beach, visit a picturesque lighthouse, or take the historical walking tour of Old Town Nantucket. You'll never run out of things to do. Other attractions on the island include the Whaling Museum, Brant Point Lighthouse, which is America's second oldest lighthouse, Nantucket Vineyard and Cisco Brewery, Nantucket Aquarium, the Jethro Coffin House (Nantucket's oldest standing house that dates to 1686.) If you visit during the December holidays, don't miss the Annual Christmas Stroll, and in spring the annual Daffodil Festival.

Naushop Weather & Climate

Nantucket Island has a moderate climate with four distinct seasons. The surrounding Atlantic Ocean moderates the climate of the offshore islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, making it milder than that of inland Massachusetts. Rain and fog are not uncommon on Nantucket Island - even in the summertime. Spring is a short season and snow flurries are possible even in April. Summers are quite warm and humid, but with cooling ocean breezes that keep it from becoming too uncomfortable. Fall is very pleasant with mild, sunny days and cool, crisp nights. Extreme weather is a possibility every few years, including nor'easters and hurricanes. However, hurricanes generally weaken to a tropical storm by the time they reach the island.
