Oak-Bluffs
is a very picturesque village located on Martha's Vineyard off the southern coast of Massachusetts. The estimated population is 3,735. Oak Bluffs, or "OB" as it's often called by locals, is one of only two Steamship Authority ferry ports left on Martha's Vineyard. One of the most unique attractions in Oak Bluffs is The Martha's Vineyard Methodist Camp Meeting Association (religious summer revival,) which consists of hundreds of colorfully painted and decorated Victorian "gingerbread" cottages. It's arguably the most perfectly preserved collection of Carpenter Gothic-style architecture in the world. At the center of Trinity Park is the Tabernacle, which is a large open-sided pavilion filled with benches for those who come to the revival meetings. Another very interesting landmark in the town is the Flying Horses Carousel. Located at the foot of Circuit Avenue, it's the country's oldest operating platform carousel - one of only two known carousels build by Charles W.F. Dare. Built in 1876, the Flying Horses were brought to Marthas Vineyard 1884. Oak Bluffs is also home to the largest marina on Martha's Vineyard, several public beaches, public parks, a golf course and a microbrewery. Downtown consists of charming shops, galleries, restaurants, theaters, and live entertainment. Oak Bluffs is just minutes to all the other attractions, restaurants, shops and outdoor activities of Martha's Vineyard.

Martha's Vineyard has a four-season climate, with milder winters and cooler summers than places further inland. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean brings changeable weather to this region. It has plenty of sunshine, but rain and fog are not uncommon - even in the summertime. Spring is a short season on Martha's Vineyard and snow is possible even in April. Summers are quite warm and humid, but with cooling ocean breezes. Fall is often the most pleasant with mild, sunny days and cool, crisp nights. Extreme weather is possible, such as severe thunderstorms, nor'easters and hurricanes. However, hurricanes generally weaken to a tropical storm by the time they reach Martha's Vineyard.
