Beverly
is a lovely seaside community located in northeastern Massachusetts, bordered by Danvers on the west, Wenham on the north, Wenham and Manchester on the east and to the south is the Beverly Harbor and Danvers River. It is about 18 miles north of Boston and 88 miles south of Portland, Maine. Founded in 1626, Beverly is one of the oldest communities in the state and is called "the birthplace of the American Navy," where the first ship commissioned by the Army (as there was no U.S. Navy then) sailed from Beverly Harbor. This town of approximately 39,000 residents boasts Endicott College, North Shore Community College and Montserrat College, as well as the North Shore Music Theater, which offers a program of musicals and celebrity concerts. Beverly has long stretches of beautiful beaches and has some of the finest boating and sailing in New England. Other attractions in town include the John Balch House (circa 1636,) which is one of the oldest wood-frame houses in the U.S., the John Hale House (circa 1694,) home of one of Beverly's first ministers and the John Cabot House, an early brick mansion that now houses a museum. The Cabot Street Theater in Beverly boasts the world's longest running magician's show. Beverly is also home to an annual Arts Fest, which offers the regions finest artists, crafters and performers along with a variety of free entertainment.

Southeastern Massachusetts , along the coast, has a continental climate with maritime influences. Some areas are classified as humid continental, and others are humid subtropical. Summers are warm and humid with the possibility of thunderstorms. Occasionally these storms are severe with hail and heavy downpours. Winters are cold and snowy, with most snowfall occurring between December and March. Spring and autumn are mild, but changeable depending on the wind direction and jet stream. Cool sea breezes are common, especially in spring. Fog is also commonplace, especially in spring and early summer. Tropical storms or hurricanes are possible, especially in early autumn, but not common.
