Marstons-Mills
is a village located in the town of Barnstable on Cape Cod, southeastern Massachusetts. The village is mostly residential and rural in nature, with several lakes, cranberry bogs and ponds. Marstons Mills has no salt water beaches, but Burgess Park and Herring Run are located here and provide some recreational opportunities for visitors, including disc golf. A scenic bike path is located off Newton Road in Marstons Mills and the village is known for its shell fishing opportunities. The town also hosts the annual Marstons Mills River Days. As part of the town of Barnstable, Marstons Mills has much to offer both visitors and residents. Museums include the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, Cape Cod Children's Museum, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, a Railroad Museum and Sandwich Glass Museum and the Cape Cod Discovery Museum. All sorts of activities are available in the area, such as swimming, biking, kayaking, whale watching, hiking, golf, tennis, antiquing, and dining in fine seafood restaurants. Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island make an easy day trip and offer even more.

The Cape Cod region has a four season climate with maritime influences. The weather here is generally more moderate than inland Massachusetts. Extreme conditions such as blizzards and hurricanes are possible, but not typical. Due to the moderating affect of the ocean, temperatures in the Cape Cod region are usually a few degrees cooler in summer and a few degrees warmer in winter. Spring comes late and is chilly, but autumn is mild and remains warmer than places further inland. The Cape Cod region has the lowest precipitation of anyplace in New England. Tropical storms occur once every 5 or 6 years, with very high winds and heavy rain. On average, the area is hit by a hurricane once every 11 or 12 years.
