West-Stockbridge
is located in western Berkshire County, just off Exit 1 of the Massachusetts Turnpike. It's only five minutes from the town of Stockbridge and about 13 miles south of Pittsfield. Called the "town next door with something more," this small New England village is set on the banks of the peaceful Williams Rivers and is quite an eclectic arts community. The quaint square block town is filled with small specialty stores, antique shops and unique arts and crafts galleries. There are also several excellent restaurants in West Stockbridge. The Kiwanis Club Tourist Information Booth is located at the corner of Depot and Route 102 and will give you lots of information on the places to see in town. A sample includes the Berkshire Center of Contemporary Glass, where you can watch demonstrations of live glass blowing, the Berkshire Hills Candle Company, Hotchkiss Mobile Studio and Vortex/New England Stained Glass. A perfect town for walking, stroll the "walking bridge" in West Stockbridge that leads to Main Street and a public market. Stop at the ice cream parlor that offers homemade ice cream from Golden Guernsey cows. Whether for the day, a weekend or longer, you'll want to make this charming town one of your stops as you explore the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Other places of interest in the area include the Berkshire Theatre Festival, Chesterwood, the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Berkshire Botanical Garden and Card Lake.

Western New York, including The Berkshires, has a moderate four-season climate. The first significant snowfall usually occurs in December, but it varies from year to year. Some years there is no snow or ice until after the first of the new year, and the temperatures near The Hudson River stay quite mild. March is the month to look for the first signs of spring, although cool temps can linger throughout the month. Summers are hazy, warm and humid. September can be mixed with either clear, cool Canadian air or humid, warm air with intense downpours. October is possibly the most beautiful month in the Berkshires with warm, sunny days and cool, crisp nights. Perfect weather for enjoying the foliage. Typically, colors peak the first three weeks of October.
