Marion-Center
is located sixty miles southeast of Boston on Buzzards Bay. This 14-square mile picturesque town is home to approximately 5,000 full time residents, but that number swells to more than 10,000 during the summertime. Founded in 1620 as part of Rochester, Marion became a separate town in 1852. One of several small communities located along Buzzards Bay, many consider Marion's harbor, known as Sippican Harbor to be the prettiest in the Bay, where hundreds of sailboats in the summertime give it a quaint, picture postcard look. Quintessential New England village, Marion's streets are lined with charming old homes and white picket fences and historical buildings. There is still a General Store located in the center of the village (in a building that was used as a place of worship from 1799 to 1841,) and the former site of the Universalist Church is now home to the Marion Art Center. The town of Marion is also home to Tabor Academy, a prestigious preparatory school with a beautiful campus that spreads out across the center of the town. Nearby places to visit include the villages of Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, Westport, the Elizabeth Islands, Woods Hole, Sandwich and Provincetown.

Southeastern Massachusetts has a continental climate with maritime influences. Some areas are classified as humid continental, and others are humid subtropical. Summers are warm and humid with the possibility of thunderstorms. Occasionally these storms are severe with hail and heavy downpours. Winters are cold and snowy, with most snowfall occurring between December and March. Spring and autumn are mild, but changeable depending on the wind direction and jet stream. Cool sea breezes are common, especially in spring. Fog is also commonplace, especially in spring and early summer. Tropical storms or hurricanes are possible, especially in early autumn, but not common. Most hurricanes weaken by the time they reach Massachusetts.
